A1 MOTOR STORES EXPAND THEIR EXCLUSIVE OIL RANGE
PRESS RELEASE
21/06/2012
A1 Motor Stores, offer a comprehensive range of quality oils for garages that now recognise that they have to use a much wider range of lubricants.
A1 year on year sales are up mainly due to the continued development of the range. The launch of an A1 5w30 fully synthetic grade just over a year ago is testament to that and there are further launches on the horizon.
John Murray, products manager at A1 Motor Stores commented: “There is and will continue to be growth in lower viscosity grades as manufacturers strive for better fuel economy, lower emissions and increased durability. Many consumers still use 10.40 SS as a part of a DIY service mainly through a lack of understanding, but also to meet a budget cost. However the long-term cost of engine repair through the incorrect grade of lubricant can be ten fold. Using the correct grade as recommended by the manufacturer will help protect vehicles fitted with Catalytic converters and Diesel Particulate Filters, saving the consumer money in the long term.
“In conjunction with the latest demands for Engine Specific Lubricants A1 have launched three new 5w30 fully synthetic engine oils to target growth areas within the aftermarket and further enhance the range. The three new oils will enable the range to cater for the very latest Ford, Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat and Vauxhall vehicles on the road.
“These lower viscosity higher quality grades can of course be significantly more expensive than the traditional grades than car owners have been used too. Garages can still gain an excellent return on these higher value oils by offering a complete range at a price that is still far better value than the customer purchasing it from their manufacturers’ dealer.”
The challenge for aftermarket businesses is of course in educating motorists on the grades of oil that the latest vehicles require and the benefits of using them. The average car owner won’t have the in depth knowledge that oil is becoming more like a specific part. Motorists will be more willing to spend extra on higher quality oil if they are aware it will protect the substantial investment they have made in their vehicle.
John concluded: “Still the most common fault is using the wrong oil grades. This can lead to poor fuel economy and higher engine wear all resulting in extra costs further down the line. This just goes to show that an initial investment in the correct oil will save the motorist money in the long term.”
