More Technical Support For Customers To ensure it can provide the necessary support to the growing number of technicians who are now fitting its extensive OE range of power transmission products, Dayco has recruited Garry Webb as its new technical assistant. Working under the leadership of Dayco’s technical manager Andy Walters and alongside Rob D’Angelo and Nick Isaacs, Garry brings a wealth of manufacturing knowledge from OE lighting manufacturer Koito Europe, where he was the team leader for automotive lighting for more than five years. “Garry was the ‘standout’ candidate for the technical role we needed to introduce,” said Andy. “His knowledge of manufacturing processes dovetails with our needs on the technical team. A hands-on manufacturing and technical understanding gives Garry a natural affinity with technicians seeking advice when fitting belts and other ancillary components, and for technical solutions generally. “It is vital that Dayco’s reputation for manufacturing top quality OE products is backed up with first-class technical support. It is therefore important for us to continue to develop the technical department and we are confident that Garry will play a significant role in that process.” Comment on his appointment Garry added: “Having worked with OE product suppliers to the automotive sector for most of my working life, it is great to have the opportunity to join another OE manufacturer in a different, but complimentary sector. “As well as the challenge from changing my focus from manufacture to technical support, one of the particularly appealing sides to this role is the fact that there is direct communication with the end user. It is very satisfying to speak to a technician and help them resolve their technical difficulties or questions.” ENDS
