DAYCO UPDATES FOR MAM USERS

Improvements For Application Reference Identification To ensure that both the motor factor and the independent garage get the most out of their sales of timing belts and kits, Dayco has overhauled and updated its application references on the MAM Autocat electronic cataloguing system. Dayco has made a significant investment in terms of time and financial resources to completely revise the system, which required MAM’s entire make and model index had to be integrated with Dayco’s existing part numbers, to give users an even more accurate reference tool. An immediate benefit of this update has been a reduction in the number of application references that list multiple belt options for a particular vehicle. This will bring efficiency savings to motor factors as they will not have to send their independent garage customers more than one reference to fit the application in question. Following this initial data update, Dayco will also introduce several new features to develop the system and improve its usability. These additions will include technical bulletins, cross reference applications, OE part numbers and competitor references. The final elements of the update will come to fruition later in the year when a pictorial image of the content of each individual kit will be made available and single tensioners will also be included to the system. The full range of Dayco power transmission systems are supplied to motor factors nationwide by leading aftermarket distributor Universal Automotive.
