World-renowned workwear company Dickies presented a surprise award to BSB legend Michael Rutter at his 400th British Superbike race start, which took place at the Dickies British Superbike Race Weekend at Oulton Park on Monday 6th May.

Dickies have an official partnership with the MCE British Superbike Championship and have supplied jackets and flame retardant overalls for the marshals. The Dickies British Superbike weekend at the North’s the premier motorsport circuit, saw thousands of racing fanatics attend the third MCE British Superbike race meeting of the year.

Rutter was, without doubt, the most experienced rider at the weekend. The ‘Blade’ has competed for all the major manufacturers and scored top five finishes in the overall standings in eight seasons; celebrating the runner-up spot in both 2002 and 2004 after missing out on the title to Steve ‘Hizzy’ Hislop and John Reynolds respectively. He has a reputation for being at his best in wet conditions and his favourite circuit is Oulton Park.

Maurice Morton, Sales and Marketing Director of Dickies said: “Rutter is a legend in British bike racing circles and we were delighted to present the award and have such huge presence at the first ever Dickies British Superbike Weekend.”

Rutter added: “It was a lovely surprise, totally unexpected and I cannot thank Dickies enough for this special award.”
