DICKIES STALKING VICTORY AT OULTON PARK THIS WEEKEND

This weekend, Cheshire’s Oulton Park hosts the “Dickies Superbike Weekend” as the MCE British Superbike Championship circus screams into town.

The world’s foremost national motorbike racing series makes its return to what is widely acknowledged as the most picturesque race circuit in the country. Oulton Park is recognised as much for its stunning surroundings as the spectacular racing that takes place on its hallowed tarmac and Dickies is very proud that all of the Marshals who help ensure the MCE British Superbike Championship runs safely and smoothly are kitted out in Dickies hi-vis Jackets and flame retardant overalls.

Leading workwear brand, Dickies is not only putting its name to the weekend’s festivities at the track, but is also sponsoring British Superbike legend, Chris “The Stalker” Walker, on his Quattro Plant Kawasaki, as he bids to climb the top step of the victory podium again - as he did in 2012.

His Oulton Park race win came on a drying track and was one of the outstanding performances of the 2012 season. This year, Chris has started in fine form, taking three top ten finishes out of four races and he currently lies seventh in the British Superbike standings. This position would be even higher, had he not been forced to retire in one of the Thruxton races with mechanical problems, when seemingly on his way to a top five finish.

The weekend also sees the public launch of Dickies’ nationwide competition to reward the Britain’s best worker – UK Worker of the Year - which is being run in association with Suzuki, who will be offering the winner of the free to enter competition their choice of car or high powered motor bike. Dickies will have a major presence at the circuit and anyone who works and is 17 or over will be able to enter the competition directly, on site at Oulton Park (or through the dedicated website – www.ukworkeroftheyear.com).

Voted the best UK circuit by BSB fans in 2007, Oulton Park features rapidly changing gradients and blind crests, and presents a supreme challenge to riders. Spectators can enjoy fantastic views of the action, with the outside of Knickerbrook in particular a favourite of the crowds.

With a full support programme - which also feature the Dickies-sponsored Be Wiser Kawasaki Team competing for honours in the British Superstock 1000 & 600 Championships – the Dickies Superbike Weekend at Oulton Park is all set to be a truly unmissable event. Qualifying and racing take place on Sunday and there’s a full day’s race programme on bank holiday Monday. There will also be live coverage throughout the day on British Eurosport.

EDITORS’ NOTES:
