On the 8th September 2012, Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club will host their first home game of the 2012/13 Season against Rosslyn Park. The game will be the first of five derby matches at Vallis Way in the up and coming campaign.

The rugby club were in blistering form last season, narrowly missing out on promotion to the Championship. Now, the club are hoping that together with the support of the local community, they will be able to push themselves to the next level.

Mike Cudmore, Head Coach and Director at the club, said: “Even though Ealing Trailfinders have had great success on the pitch, it was clear in the last campaign that not enough supporters were turning up to watch what is a very high standard of rugby.” This has raised eyebrows as to how many people actually know of the club and the superb position they are currently in.

Ealing Trailfinders RFC were ranked the 25thbest team in the country last season. However, the club have always been hidden in the shadows of the likes of Harlequins, Wasps and London Irish, who are also all based in West London.

There is no doubt that Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club are not too far away from becoming a club that is not only talked about in the community, but across the country.

As well as being high achievers, ETRFC are a very community-centred club. On this aspect alone it is hard to see why the community is not turning out in their numbers to watch the club on a weekly basis.

The club will be hoping that the level of excellence on the pitch in the last campaign will attract the local community to come and watch the club that is on their doorstep. With a push in weekly support, together with the new additions to the squad, Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club hope that this season’s fixture list, which consist of bigger names in the rugby world, will encourage a greater spectator gate.

After scoring 1,000 points in the last campaign, it is a pretty safe bet that watching ETRFC will never be boring. The club are encouraging the local community to come out and support the club and enjoy the standard of rugby from the players at Ealing Trailfinders Rugby Club. It’s not only rugby; the club has excellent catering facilities too. If you are U16 you can come and watch for free.
