FIRST LINE SECURES SALES MANAGER FOR WESTERN EUROPE

Andrew McCluskey

If there was any doubt that First Line is committed to its European expansion agenda, the appointment of Andrew McCluskey will dispel the notion as he joins the company as its export sales manager for Western Europe.

Andrew is responsible for the company’s sales in a huge market that stretches from Scandinavia to Malta and from Portugal to Germany, but he has at his disposal some formidable brands, not least the highly regarded Borg & Beck brake and clutch programmes.

Andrew joins the team after five years with ADL, where he began by providing market analysis of the parts data to support the export team, while also handling a few minor accounts. However, he obviously has a talent for sales as these small accounts grew, as did his European responsibility.

Having previously worked with First Line’s general export manager, Kevin Neaverson, and in light of the big plans that the company has for its export business, it was an easy decision for Andrew to join the First Line team and he’s clearly relishing the challenge ahead: “It’s a great time to be part of the company’s export development and it provides a wonderful opportunity to define the business rather than just conforming to what is already there.

“In many markets we have a blank canvas on which to work and with the fantastic products in our portfolio I believe we have a great opportunity to develop the right distribution partners and make a big impact in Western Europe.

First Line does not enter a new market without carrying out the necessary groundwork to ensure that its products are appropriate, not just from a quality perspective, but with product availability and accurate parts data and technical support as it is crucial that it is able to offer the right parts for the relevant vehicles in the territory.

“Our main export thrust will be with the Borg & Beck clutch and braking programmes and it’s a real honour to be able to represent such a well respected and recognised brand in Europe. However, no one knows the market more than those in the market, so we have structured the business so that we are also able to offer other products if those markets have a demand for them.”

For First Line, Kevin Neaverson said: “We have ambitious plans for growth in a number of export markets and with Andrew overseeing Western Europe we know we have someone capable of growing the business in line with its potential and who can reflect the quality and reputation of the entire organisation in these new markets.”
