Long-term Supporter Commits To The Show Again Wood Auto, a leading auto-electrical specialist since 1929, will make it 14 Automechanika’s in succession when the doors open in Frankfurt this September. This unbroken sequence of appearances started when Wood Auto’s then managing director, Robert Heywood signed the contract to exhibit in 1984. 26 years on and the present managing director, Robert’s son Graham Heywood, is just as keen to exhibit at the world famous event. “There have been so many changes in every conceivable area of the aftermarket in the last thirty years,” he said “but Automechanika has remained unchallenged as the premier trade event and it has never failed to live up to its position as the number one show for our sector. “We are particularly expectant of the show this year for a combination of reasons. The first is that despite the economic downturn that started during 2008, the last show was one of the best for us. We therefore approach this year’s show with great anticipation in light of some more encouraging signs for the future economy. “The second factor is the addition of air conditioning compressors to the Wood Auto product offering. As the world’s premier aftermarket event, Automechanika provides us with the ideal platform to present the compressor range, alongside the complete family of Wood Auto products, to a global audience. “The third reason is the recruitment of Rita Millo as our European sales manager earlier this year. Rita’s experience, particularly in southern Europe, has already opened doors for us and allowed us to reach a number of new customers.
