TecDoc VRM Look-Up Sets New Standards The 2.0 version of TecDoc’s WEB CATALOG parts identification portal provides its VRM users with the full vehicle details to ensure that they choose the right parts, for the right vehicle, first time. As users who already use the 2.0 version can testify, it provides all of the back-up and usability of the ‘Classic’ version, but with some distinct benefits when interrogating the data, which makes searching for the correct part easier and quicker. Shaun Greasley, commercial director for TecDoc UK and Eire said: “The great news for existing users is that they can get all the benefits of the update from Classic to 2.0 for free. In addition, those using the VRM search tool will also notice an improvement as supplier partner HPI has invested considerable time and effort to achieve the highest possible level of accuracy. When it comes to practical functionality, the number plate and article direct search facility is now on the vehicle selection page, which results in less ‘clicks’ to select a part. “Visually the screen displays more information, including chassis numbers, engine numbers and the date of registration, which means that users have multiple identification references to aide the search and ensures that they choose the right parts, for the right vehicle, first time. “Allied to these developments, we can also report that the number of suppliers that have their parts information listed on TecDoc is now more than 380, giving users greater choice and more options. “As a result of these system developments individual factors and garages, as well as the large wholesale groups, are switching to TecDoc in ever greater numbers,” concluded Greasley.
