A Bright Future For Dayco and Universal Automotive Aware of the somewhat uncharitable rumours emanating from a number of its competitors, Dayco is delighted to publicly rubbish these claims and confirm the ongoing relationship with its primary distributor Universal Automotive. The Dayco/Universal Automotive partnership has been long and fruitful, and it has succeeded in providing many thousands of technicians with access to one of the world’s finest power transmission brands. It has also meant that a multitude of motorists have directly benefited from the reassurance given by the OE quality guaranteed by Dayco. As a result of this success and as part of its long-term commitment to continue to develop its presence in the aftermarket in the UK and Eire, Dayco Europe has undertaken a reorganisation of its UK operation and formed an autonomous UK subsidiary. The formation of Dayco Aftermarket UK will allow the organisation to fully support every sector be it workshop, factor or distributor and provide the necessary back up to sustain the growth of such a prominent OE and aftermarket brand. Former Universal Automotive man, Callum Goodland heads the UK team, with technical manager Andy Walters providing the crucial back up on the technical side. Operating initially from Dayco’s HQ in Basildon, Essex, both are also supported by Dayco Europe’s regional sales manager, Gianluigi De Dea. “Dayco is a leading OE parts manufacturer and should be represented by a leading distributor. Universal Automotive is just such an organisation and we are pleased to quell any rumours that suggest that our longstanding business relationship is under threat,” said Dayco’s aftermarket sales manager, Callum Goodland. “The action to establish the UK office can only add to the level of support that we can provide to Universal Automotive and its customers.” For Universal Automotive, managing director, Nick Davies added: “Dayco is an important brand within our product portfolio and we can reassure our many factor customers that the full range of belts, timing belt kits and tensioners remain competitively priced and readily available. We believe that Dayco’s new UK office is a big plus for us and we are sure will also result in benefits to our customers too.” For more information regarding the OEM quality power transmission products in the Dayco range, please call the Universal Automotive sales team on: 01562 512512 or visit: www.dayco.com ENDS
