Aftermarket stalwart expands its range offering Wood Auto, a leading auto-electrical specialist since 1929, has announced a major product development with the addition of air conditioning compressors alongside its rotating products. As with the majority of its starters and alternators, Wood Auto air conditioning compressors will be sold on an outright purchase basis, so there will be no need for customers to complicate their transactions by having to exchange the failed compressor with the new unit or to be forced to pay a surcharge for it. An important aspect of any new product introduction is the assurance of sufficient part numbers to satisfy the likely demand. To ensure this will not be an issue to its customers, Wood Auto will introduce a range of more than 1,000 compressors by the time the busy summer aircon season is in full swing. These compressors will cover close to 14,000 reference applications, which represents 98% of the UK vehicle parc. In addition to the automotive sector, Wood Auto’s air conditioning compressors will also be available for the commercial vehicle, PSV and agricultural sectors, thus giving its customers a single source outlet for compressors across multiple markets. We pride ourselves on both the range and stock of our rotating units and this philosophy is carried over to our compressor offering too. Therefore, customers will be able to place orders until 5pm to secure a next day delivery service anywhere in the UK.” With fast access to the county’s transport networks, Wood Auto is well located to supply the national and international automotive aftermarket from its primary warehouse and HQ in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.
