Although many individual GAU members have used the TecDoc CATALOG parts identification system, the group’s relationship with TecDoc has really taken off with the recent initiative to make the system freely available to all members via a bespoke GAU WEB SHOP portal. In addition to an individual corporate design, WEB SHOP allows users to add specific customer prices and tailored part numbers, as well as displaying the company’s preferred suppliers first when undertaking vehicle parts searches. It is also updated daily and enables customers to order online. The partnership with the GAU has proved to be so successful that supplier manager, Ian Grünewald has reported that 152 members, with between them 926 user licences, are now successfully using the system. TecDoc’s commercial director for UK and Eire, Shaun Greasley said: “It is fantastic to witness the growth in GAU members using the system and therefore benefiting from being able to quickly and accurately identify the correct replacement parts required by their customers. “TecDoc CATALOG is available to both the motor factor and the garage workshop and the system allows even the smallest independent to access literally millions of parts for thousands of cars and commercial vehicles. “Customers opting for WEB SHOP will benefit from the integration of portal and their existing ordering/stock control system.
