User-friendly improvements make TecDoc even better Global parts information data provider TecDoc, continues to improve and develop its highly regarded CATALOG parts identification system to assist users locate the correct replacement part in the shortest possible time. Considerable investment has been made in updating the system and to modify the look and feel of the system and make the latest 2.0 version even more intuitive for busy trade users. The VRM search tool, which allows users to identify the exact vehicle using just the registration mark, is an invaluable tool and this latest version even improves this excellent option. So now when users type in the registration they can see additional information like the vehicle’s chassis number and engine code, as well as linking to the TecDoc K type number. An enthusiastic user of TecDoc’s VRM option is Premier Components UK. IT manager Alan Russell explains what it has done for the business: “We specialize in recycling components before a vehicle is crushed and we use TecDoc in conjunction with HPI. “Since we started using VRM in TecDoc the process of identifying the precise vehicle specification has been made simple. All that is required is for the user to enter the vehicle’s registration into our system; this will provide the user with the information on what parts are to be recycled. The system is very fast, so it speeds the process and increases productivity, but the biggest gain for us is the accuracy of the system. TecDoc with VRM has become an indispensable tool for us.” Shaun Greasley, commercial director of TecDoc UK and Eire said: “Premier Components’ experience of VRM is typical of our other VRM users. By being able to identify a specific model variant from what is the easiest ID reference – the vehicle’s registration plate – is quick, and crucially, accurate. “Many businesses have experienced directly attributable cost saving benefits as the number of wrongly specified parts, which have then needed to be returned, has shrunk as a result of using TecDoc’s VRM option.” To learn more of what TecDoc can do for your business, contact Shaun Greasley on 01829 752888 or email: shaun.greasley@tecdoc.net ENDS Notes for editors TecDoc CATALOG, the trading name of its electronic parts catalogue information, provides a multi-brand parts solution to the vehicle service industry and at present, more than 360 replacement parts brands are represented on the TecDoc data system.
