Long-Term Parts Man Joins The Team Experienced aftermarket sales professional, Ian Hughes has joined Universal Automotive as its new business development manager for the southwest of England. Ian has worked in the aftermarket for the whole of his career and has enjoyed significant periods with some well-known business. He spent 12 years with Autostart followed by ten years with Sovereign and then another eight years with Quinton Hazell before becoming part of the Universal Automotive team in June. John Goodland, Universal Automotive’s sales director said: “Professionals of Ian’s pedigree do not come along very often and so we are delighted to be able to welcome onto the team. “The aftermarket is a tight knit community and Ian has established relationships with many businesses and we have already seen that many are interested in the great brands and quality products we distribute.” Ian added: “As the south coast has been my ‘patch’ for such a long time, I have got to know many of the businesses as friends, rather than just as my customers. They are always pleased to see me and they are also very interested in VECO as they remember it as a reputable aftermarket brand. “Personally, it is great to get stuck into a new challenge with a new business and new products. However, it is particularly pleasing to hear my customers who had previously not dealt with Universal Automotive say how professional the people are and how good they are to deal with.” ENDS
