New First Line Website After an extensive consultation and development process, which included taking on helpful feedback from its customers, First Line has relaunched its website to provide users with a multifunction platform that is easy to use and is packed with loads of useful information. Two exciting additions – the ‘Toolbox’ and ‘Webcat’ areas – particularly set the site apart and give it tremendous scope and functionality. The Toolbox allows users to access relevant technical data, download good quality marketing material and search for specific product information. Installers will find the Toolbox technical section particularly informative as it provides them with regular technical tips and the latest technical bulletins, which will make those tricky jobs less of a burden. However, these developments are just the beginning of an ongoing programme which will mean that helpful technical information will be uploaded on a regular basis. First Line is a certified data provider to TecDoc and has won many plaudits for the quality of its cataloguing information. Users searching First Line’s superb Webcat product catalogue and cross reference area will experience this expertise firsthand as it provides all the cataloguing information they will need in a clear and uncomplicated format. Icons direct users to search vehicle manufacturers for either car or commercial vehicle applications and there are even supporting images to confirm that the user has found the correct model. Another significant Webcat initiative to ensure the correct part identification is the opportunity to view a detailed technical drawing of each component. This is displayed once the user has chosen a specific part after going through the make, model, and part search process. Steering and suspension images are laid out in an ‘exploded form’, but every First Line component can also be viewed individually in detail via the ‘graphics’ icon, once the particular part has been selected. With Webcat, users are sure to find that parts identification has never been easier. James Hall, First Line’s marketing coordinator said: “We believe the new site – www.firstline.co.uk – to be a significant step forward in aftermarket communication. The site manages to combine content with usability, which means that a huge information resource is hosted on a site that is easy to access and exceptionally well laid out. “This new development is the culmination of many hours of internal consultation and the extremely helpful feedback from our valued customers and we’ll certainly continue to work closely with them to develop the site further.” This valuable First Line information is also replicated from a Borg & Beck perspective by clicking the Toolbox icon and hitting the Borg & Beck tag, which takes users through to a complementary portal for the famous clutch brand. Although the information on the site will remain without cost to users, First Line is encouraging visitors to register because during March the site will become restricted to casual visitors, while remaining fully accessible to registered users. With more than 250 users registering within hours of the site becoming live, www.firstline.co.uk is set to be a hit with the trade and consumer alike.
