Cannes update - Chimney project in Un Certain Regard
White God, the Swedish/Hungarian/German feature film directed by Kornél Mundruczó, produced by Proton Cinema and co-produced by Pola Pandora and Chimney, has been selected for the prestigious category Un Certain Regard where it will be screened during Festival de Cannes. It is a story about genocide, about a world where some are chosen and others are deselected. The theme is not unknown but the question that is asked in this film is: Will it ever stop? This feature is Mundruczós sixth one. He has previously received a lot of praise for Tender Son as well as Delta; both of the films were nominated for the Golden Palm.
White God is supported by Eurimages with producers from Hungary, Sweden and Germany. It is produced in Hungary and sound, grading as well as visual effects is done in Sweden and Germany by Chimney.
“We are extremely proud that we get to represent a film that is part of the Cannes official selection yet again. This shows that Chimney is one of the front-runners within the European film industry. We are especially happy that it is White God as the project has been a cooperation of several Chimney offices across Europe. We keep our fingers crossed that the jury in Cannes treats us well.” says Fredrik Zander, Executive Producer at Chimney.
