The idea of writing a book about European film financing has been growing over the last few years at Chimney and last Sunday Chimney’s Top 100 European Film Funds: The Gateway to European Film Financing was launched at Berlinale and is available for purchase at www.amazon.co.uk.

“The film business is going through a significant change where resources and funding are decreasing in many places making it more complicated and expensive to finance a project. We hope that this book will give the reader inspiration and new creative ways of putting together solid financial planning.” explains Fredrik Zander, Editor in Chief.

The information presented in this publication was gathered by Chimney’s team during extensive research and through direct contact with representa¬tives of the Funds. Chimney believes that putting this information into a physical book form is the best way to present these facts and an app that will serve as a compliment to the book will be launched later this year. The company intends to publish annually as new funds pop up and others disappear and conditions change.

Over the years Chimney has seen been involved in several critically acclaimed films. Most recently Spike Jonzes Her that was nominated for five Oscars as well as The 100-Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window And Disappeared that was picked to be shown during a gala screening as part of the Berlinale Special. “We are extremely proud to initiate this book and we anticipate it will make possible the continuous production of fantastic films in Europe as we know how rewarding it is to work in this business.” says Fredrik Zander.

Fredrik Zander, Head of Art & Entertainment/Executive Producer at Chimney and Editor in Chief of the book will travel to events and festivals to present it. To get updates, follow the book using #chimneystop100.
