Chimney wins an Oscar!!

Last night Searching for Sugar Man won an Oscar for best Documentary! Chimney has had a big part in making it and this is the first time Chimney is involved in a film that wins an Oscar!  “We believed in Malik Bendjelloul from the beginning and saw huge potential in this project, therefore we helped Malik to finalize the film. It is great to get our belief in this documentary confirmed with an Oscar” says Fredrik Zander, head of the feature film department in Chimney.

The project was done mainly at the Stockholm office but in collaboration with Warsaw. A great example of when collaboration between the Chimney offices made it possible to deliver a project faster and better. 

Samir Chahimi, head of the Broadcast department at Chimney in Stockholm was in contact with Malik before the gala and he was really exited for the evening. “We are of course very proud of that we have been part of producing an Oscar winning movie! Congratulation to Malik and everyone at Chimney that has worked on it” says Samir. 

Chimney has worked on several International Feature Films lately, for example Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Oscar nominated last year) and they just finalized Fredrik Bond’s first Feature Film The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. The coming months the Feature Film department at Chimney will spend working on Terry Gilliam’s next film. “It is always fun to work with films that get recognized internationally and the Oscars is of course the most prestigious prize of all” says Fredrik Zander.
