Experience the Tropics with Chiquita at the 2024 IFPA Trade Show
Fort Lauderdale, FL – October 10, 2024 – Chiquita is thrilled to return to the International Fresh Produce Association (IFPA) Trade Show for another year of exciting new launches! The main attraction at this year’s trade show is the introduction of Chiquita’s Yelloway One (YW01), a groundbreaking new banana prototype resistant to diseases and low in carbon emissions. Additionally, Chiquita will unveil its new Sustainability Report and immerse visitors in a taste of the tropics, allowing fresh produce experts to connect and learn more about cutting-edge innovations and industry trends.
The introduction of Chiquita’s Yelloway One (YW01) prototype is a true pioneer in the category and proof that Chiquita continues to be at the forefront of innovation, creating shared value for the Chiquita brand, our customers, suppliers, associates and the community. This innovation is a result of a joint venture between Chiquita, KeyGene, MusaRadix, and collaboration with Wageningen University and Research (WUR). Yelloway One (YW01) represents a significant step forward in creating a sustainable future for the banana industry.
Additionally, the Chiquita booth will transport attendees to the Tropics, where they can learn about the history of the brand, the Behind the Blue Sticker initiative and the production cycle of bananas. The new 2024-2025 Chiquita Sustainability Report will be another key attraction highlighting Chiquita’s commitment to the environment, focusing on carbon reduction, limiting food waste and combating banana crop diseases with its groundbreaking Yelloway initiative. Additionally, new engaging videos, Q&A sessions, short presentations and interview sessions with key Chiquita spokespersons will also be available for a limited time.
“At Chiquita, we are passionate about bringing the vibrant spirit of the tropics to our customers and consumers.
