ChromoGenics completes first reference installation in Denmark at Nordsø Records
ChromoGenics AB (publ) has completed the first retro-fit installation of about 20 m2 ConverLight® dynamic glass at Nordsø Records in Copenhagen to improve their indoor climate control. This is a step forward in ChromoGenics’ market expansion outside Sweden.
Vinyl records have made a great comeback. In 2016, Nordsø Records, the world's first "microbrewery" for vinyl record printing, started up in Copenhagen's new vibrant district, Nordhavn. At Nordsø Records, music artists print small volumes of exclusive labels and covers.
Even though Nordsø Records has invested in cooling and insulation of the plate presses, they still emit undesirable heat. In addition, large windows induce solar heat gain. Consequently, Nordsø Records chose to install ConverLight® dynamic glass with controllable heat- and light transmission.
“With ConverLight®, the indoor climate of Nordsø Records has been significantly improved by reducing solar radiation up to 90% while the rendering of the outside world is maintained. Our employees experience that the indoor temperature is crucial when producing vinyl records and that the daylight improves color perception, which is important when selecting the desired, often very sophisticated colors on the vinyl records,” says Michael Hjort and Henrik Krogh Damm at Nordsø Records.
"This is a so-called retro-fit project where ConverLight® dynamic glass is mounted on an existing building to improve the indoor climate and energy efficiency in a sustainable way. ConverLight® controls heat and light transmission while maintaining daylight and full view of the outside world,” says Michael Felthaus, Business developer in Denmark at ChromoGenics.
“This results in energy savings, increased comfort and well-being of the tenants. Our dynamic glass is not affected by strong wind and thus don’t need to be replaced like other traditional solar control solutions. Reduced maintenance cost is yet another important benefit our unique product ConverLight® delivers to our customers,” concludes Michael Felthaus.
