ChromoGenics is one of the participants in a consortium around the EU project, NewSkin. The project will last for four years and ChromoGenic's part in the project has a contribution of over SEK 2 million.

The NewSkin project aims to create what is called an “Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB)” to develop new nano-materials for both industrial and consumer products. The project is expected to last for four years.

For ChromoGenic's part, the NewSkin project will use the company's newly acquired and for Northern Europe completely unique sputtering capabilities to produce various new materials. It also provides an opportunity for ChromoGenics to develop materials that may be used in the company's own innovative electrochromic products.

"The fact that ChromoGenics will be able to participate in NewSkin with our new sputters is a very big step for the new factory, and ChromoGenics will directly benefit technically from the project's results in our own future products." says CTO Greger Gregard.
