ChromoGenics receives order of approximately 220 sqm ConverLight® dynamic glass to Åke Sundvall
ChromoGenics AB (publ) has signed an agreement with Åke Sundvall Byggnads AB to deliver ConverLight® to the project Knäckepilen in Uppsala.
ChromoGenics has signed an agreement to deliver approximately 220 sqm of dynamic glass to the project Knäckepilen at Gränbystaden in Uppsala, where Åke Sundvall builds condominiums. ConverLight® will be delivered during the second half of 2018, and time for moving in to the apartments is scheduled for the first quarter of 2019.
"People need daylight. In the project Knäckepilen we have focused on innovative architecture and integrated large glass sections for unobstructed views and comfortable indoor climate. This imposes requirements on handling the heat radiation transmission to keep the recommended indoor temperature during summer time. We compared alternatives in the form of exterior solar control systems, but since awnings and curtains eliminate the view and the cost of the investment was comparable to ConverLight®, which also maintains Knäckepilen's beautiful view and is a maintenance-free solution, the choice fell naturally," says Jonas Berg, Project Manager at Åke Sundvall. "We are looking forward to offering apartments with comfortable indoor climate and access to the much needed daylight, even hot summer days," he concludes.
"We are proud that Åke Sundvall chose ConverLight® dynamic glass for the project Knäckepilen. ChromoGenics’ dynamic glass automatically controls the heat and daylight emitted into buildings, providing a better indoor comfort. The order demonstrates the need for energy efficient and maintenance-free solar control solutions with maintained views and daylight transmission to allow innovative architecture. Satisfied apartment owners are important for all property owners and construction companies. We are pleased that our dynamic glass can contribute to that," says Jerker Lundgren, CEO of ChromoGenics.
