The Social Reform Office of the National Scientology Organization of Mexico gives police tools to help youth.

Mexico City Safety Police distributed 7,500 copies of The Truth About Drugs booklets at a two-day fair in July 2013 at Zócalo (Constitution Square) in the heart of Mexico City.

A team of officers of the Mexico City School Safety Police decided to reach out to youth during school summer holidays. For two days in July, the team distributed 7,500 copies of The Truth About Drugs drug education booklets at a summer fair at Zócalo (Constitution Square) in the heart of the historic center of Mexico City.

The Mexico City School Safety Police are a unique branch of law enforcement entrusted with maintaining the safety of the city’s schools.

To help the officers carry out their duties, the Social Reform Office of the National Scientology Organization of Mexico has been conducting drug education seminars based on The Truth About Drugs education and prevention initiative.

Many of the officers were concerned about how to get through to youth and they find The Truth About Drugs education materials solve the problem—the materials communicate the reality of drug abuse in terms teens and young adults relate to. The program includes a series of 13 drug education booklets, 16 public service announcements and a feature-length documentary.

Scientologists on five continents work in their communities throughout the year to empower others with the truth about drugs. The Church and its members are dedicated to eradicating drug abuse through education.

It has been conclusively proven that when young people are provided with the truth about drugs—factual information on what drugs are and what they do—usage rates drop commensurately.

The Church of Scientology supports The Truth About Drugs initiative, one of the world’s largest nongovernmental drug education and prevention campaigns and makes these materials available free of charge to educators, law enforcement and community programs.

The Church of Scientology has published a brochure, Scientology: How We Help—The Truth About Drugs, Creating a Drug-Free World to meet requests for more information about the drug education and prevention initiative it supports. To learn more or read the brochure, visit the Scientology website.

Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote, “The planet has hit a barrier which prevents any widespread social progress—drugs and other biochemical substances. These can put people into a condition which not only prohibits and destroys physical health but which can prevent any stable advancement in mental or spiritual well-being.”

Youth read The Truth About Drugs booklets given to them by Mexico City School Safety Police officers at the July 2013 fair at Zócalo (Constitution Square).
