AMEC Thought Leadership Series Kicks Off June 14 with Live Session: ‘Reputation Management: The View from the C-Suite’

CHICAGO, June 3, 2011Cision, the leading provider of PR software, services and tools for the marketing and public relations industry, and AMEC (The International Association for the Measurement and Evaluation of Communication), today announced that Cision will sponsor the AMEC Leadership Series, a series of webinars that examine and promote emerging best practices in reputation measurement.

The initial webinar, “Reputation Management: The View from the C-Suite,” led by Daniel Diermeier, Professor of Management at the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University, has been scheduled for Tuesday, June 14, at 11 a.m. EDT, and 4 p.m. BST.

Professor Diermeier will present a new approach to reputation management that focuses on a tight integration with a firm’s business strategy. Drawing from his new book, Reputation Rules: Strategies for Building Your Company's Most Valuable Asset, as well as his experience as director of the Ford Motor Company Center for Global Citizenship, he will discuss how to build an effective reputation management capability and the key role that public relations professionals play in the process.

The series will continue with additional webinars planned for September and November 2011.

“In a time of radical change in media – and radical integration of marketing disciplines – marketing and communications professionals must stay on top of tools, best practices and new metrics that can affect their strategies, and their competitors’. The AMEC webinars will be an indispensable source of knowledge, discussion and promotion of new reputation measurement standards,” said Peter Granat, President and Chief Operating Officer of Cision North America, and Chair of AMEC’s Business Development Committee.

“Meaningful, accurate communications research and measurement have never been more crucial in optimizing the impact of earned media on corporate reputation management,” said Barry Leggetter, the Executive Director of AMEC. “The webinar series will help define, advance and share emerging best practices in research and measurement among our members in 38 countries around the world. Thanks to the sponsorship of Cision, we will be bringing new thinking from important commentators to an international audience.”
