London, October 30, 2009 – Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today expanded its European Media Updates to cover Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland. Cision’s Media Updates provide a round-up of the latest changes in media, keeping readers up to date with the highest profile industry activity, from publication launches and closures and journalist moves, to new blogs and Twitter accounts to watch. Before today, the Media Updates had covered media in France, Germany, the UK, USA and Canada. Subscribers can choose to receive the new Media Updates in English or in local languages. “We’re delighted with this latest expansion to our Media Updates,” said Filipe Pereira, EMEA Research Manager at Cision. “The Updates provide a vital insight into a rapidly evolving European media industry, hugely valuable for communications and media professionals alike.” As part of the launch, Cision Research Europe has published a series of photography blog rankings for each of the countries now covered by the Media Updates. Taken together, these lists constitute the most influential photography blogs in Western Europe. “As always, the blog rankings make for fascinating reading, all the more so now that we can make richer international comparisons” said Falk Rehkopf, Head of European Research at Cision. “There is a personal diary element to the majority of blogs in Finland and Norway, while in Germany we find mainly product reviews, even corporate news – and in the UK it’s artists using blogs for self promotion who dominate.” Previously, Cision Research Europe has issued blog rankings for the UK and Germany, focusing on topics as diverse as PR, parenting, comedy, education and science.
