Cision celebrates World Cup with the announcement of a new partnership for Africa
Award-winning CisionPoint PR workflow software to be sold through partnership with South Africa’s KLEA Media Intelligence
Durban, July 8, 2010 – Cision, the leading provider of software, services and tools for the media and public relations industry, today announced a new partnership that will bring CisionPoint PR workflow software and services to the South African market.
The award-winning CisionPoint platform was launched in October 2007 and rapidly became the fastest growing on-demand communications workflow application in the world. It will be sold in South Africa through KLEA Media Intelligence, for which CisionPoint represents an invaluable addition to its suite of real-time communications tools.
Peter Granat, CEO of Cision Europe, highlighted the importance of Africa as the world’s fastest growing market for communications technology: “Given the Internet’s increasingly central role in communications strategies, and the attendant globalisation of marcomms activity, it is vital that Cision make its software and services directly available to the African market through its presence in South Africa.
“We are very fortunate that our partner in South Africa, KLEA Media Intelligence, has expertise in both the local markets and Cision’s software and solutions. KLEA CEO Norman Clements was SVP International Analysis at Cision US headquarters in Chicago.”
Clements agreed that the time was right to launch CisionPoint in South Africa. “South Africa is a vibrant emerging market, helped in no small measure by the goodwill and investment from the Soccer World Cup. Our communicators are world class, and they require a world-class integrated platform. With CisionPoint, for the first time everything they need is in one place.”
Cision has 20,000 clients worldwide, ranging from global market leaders, including the top PR agencies, to non-profit organisations, universities, small businesses and freelancers.
Built on a media database of well over a million global media contacts, CisionPoint combines feeds from thousands of global news and social media sources into a dashboard whose functionality has been designed with communications professionals to ensure they manage brands, campaigns and crises in the most efficient way possible.
