London, 6 December, 2010: Cision, the leading provider of media research, distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations industry and other communicators, today announced an agreement to work with #CommsChat, Europe’s biggest weekly live Twitter conversation, connecting public relations, marketing, journalism and blogging communities.

#CommsChat was established in May 2010 by leading new media consultants Adam Vincenzini and Emily Cagle. #CommsChat is the weekly Twitter chat based out of the UK that looks at all aspects of communications, including PR, traditional and social media, journalism, blogging, marketing, digital engagement and more. Cision’s presence will help strengthen the community and its output, ranging from the production of white papers, webinars, conference and seminar discussions to other thought leadership initiatives that explore the impact of online communications and new media.

“Cision’s goal is to make it easier for the PR and media communities to connect and do their jobs more effectively. We are thrilled to support #CommsChat and help build bridges between the communities,” said Tosh Bruce-Morgan, Managing Director of Cision UK. “The social media movement and the changing media landscape demands that we listen, facilitate and provide the tools to enable PR and media people to communicate. #CommsChat and Cision share the common goal of bringing these communities closer together and we also think we can bring something to this conversation.”

“We just want to make #CommsChat as valuable and relevant as possible to the great community that has been established over the last six months,” said #CommsChat, co-founder, Adam Vincenzini.

“Adding Cision’s knowledge and insight into the mix will help make each discussion even more robust and useful, and help attract more participants, increasing the value of the community to its members,” added fellow #CommsChat co-founder, Emily Cagle.

#CommsChat is staged on Monday nights at 8pm GMT. Typically more than 100 people get involved in the discussion each week which is hosted by special guests from wide-ranging sectors and specialisms.  You can stay up to date with all the latest #CommsChat news via @CommsChat on Twitter, the dedicated Facebook group (www.facebook.com/commchat) or via www.commschat.com

This Monday, 6 December 2010, NMA’s Vikki Chowney will be the special guest host leading a discussion about the disparity of views between the PR industry and the ‘real world’.
