2012 CODiE Award is Cision’s Fourth in Four Years From Software Industry’s Most Prestigious Global Awards Competition

LONDON, 26 January, 2012 - Cision, the leading provider of PR software, services and tools for the marketing and public relations industry, today announced that its campaign management software has been judged 2012’s Best Online Business Information Service by the CODiE Awards, the software industry’s only peer-reviewed awards competition.

The CODiE Awards, sponsored by the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), recognise excellence in the digital content, business software and education technology industries. The Best Online Business Information Service award honours “the best digital service that delivers comprehensive company, business and/or industry information, news and data.”

Cision won the award in competition with offerings from InfoDesk, LexisNexis Group and Zoom Information.

“The social media explosion has created tens of millions of online influencers and opinionated consumers who can affect corporate and brand reputation in a matter of minutes. For marketers and top executives, this has created a massive ‘big data’ challenge: how do you identify these influencers, quantify their true authority, aggregate what’s being said about your company or industry across all channels, engage effectively, and measure results?” said Hans Gieskes, President  and Chief Executive Officer of Cision AB .

“At the heart of our software is the public relations industry’s most comprehensive media and influencer database with detailed information about influencers, ‘traditional’ journalists, and influence rankings updated 20,000 times each day. We integrate this data with tools that monitor, aggregate and filter social media conversations and traditional media coverage, reach out to influencers across all channels, and quantify results,” he said.  “We are extremely pleased that the SIIA has recognised our efforts.”

The 2012 CODiE Award is Cision’s fourth top honour since it became eligible for the competition in 2009.  CisionPoint holds the 2011 CODiE for Best Marketing/PR Solution and was judged Best Online News Service in the 2009 CODiE Awards. In addition, the Cision Social Media Dashboard won a 2010 CODiE as Best Social Media Aggregation Service, and Cision won the 2010 Product Development of the Year Award from the UK’s Data Publishers Association (DPA).

Cision’s integrated campaign management software has been adopted by over 30,000 users in more than 20 countries since its launch in October 2007. It is available in nine languages and used by top PR agencies, corporations, not-for-profits, universities and solo practitioners.
