LONDON, 13th December 2011 – Cision, the leading provider of PR software, services and tools for the marketing and public relations industry, today announced that Cision’s best-in-class global media database is now available to users of smartphones and tablet computers with the world’s two most popular mobile operating systems – iOS (for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch) and Android.

Cision also announced that its CisionPoint campaign management platform is now certified on Google Chrome and has named Chrome as its preferred browser. It released a browser extension for Chrome users that lets marketers and communicators search for journalists and digital influencers directly from Chrome’s tool bar.

“The widespread use of smart phones and tablets has truly mobilised the world of business,” said Tom Ritchie, Deputy Managing Director of Cision UK. “Our customers who use iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices can log on to Cision ‘on the go’, experience enhanced performance and perform critical campaign management tasks.”

Users can:

  • Search for a media or influencer contact
  • Call, email or contact via Twitter
  • View the contact’s influencer rating
  • Search for similar contacts by geography, topic, industry or publication
  • View profiles or pitching tips

“Communicators must simplify and enhance their ability to effectively tell their stories to important audiences,” Ritchie said. “Extending Cision’s software to the most popular mobile and browser platforms empowers more PR and marketing pros to engage influencers, media and customers, shape reputations, and generate awareness, leads and sales.”

Cision, winner of the 2011 CODiE Award as the Best Marketing/PR Solution from the Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), is now fully supported on the world’s three top browsers: Google Chrome, Microsoft Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox.  Updated 20,000 times a day, the Cision Media Database contains more than 1.5 million influencers and outlets from social, online and traditional media.

Cision’s integrated campaign management software has been adopted by over 30,000 users in more than 20 countries since its launch in October 2007. It is available in nine languages and used by 49 of the top 50 PR agencies, corporations, not-for-profits, universities and solo practitioners. Cision also has won CODiE Awards for Best Online News Service and Best Social Media Aggregation Service, and received the Product Development of the Year award for 2010 from the Data Publishers Association (DPA). As well as being named this month, a 2012 CODiE Award finalist in two categories – as Best Online Business Information Resource and Best Solution Integrating Content into Workflow.
