Peter Granat Appointed New President and CEO of Cision
Cision announced today that Hans Gieskes is stepping down as President and CEO of Cision. He is succeeded by Peter Granat, currently CEO of Cision North America, effective immediately.
Peter Granat will remain in his role as CEO for the business in North America.
“Since Hans Gieskes came to Cision at a critical time in 2008, he has been instrumental in the transformation of the company into a well-positioned market leader. Also, he had an active part in the succession deliberations, in order to ensure a smooth handover to Peter”, says Anders Böös, Chairman of the Board of Cision.
“Now that we have concluded a number of key milestones in our turnaround and transformation process, it’s the right time to hand over to an experienced internal successor like Peter”, says Hans Gieskes, outgoing CEO of Cision.
“At Cision, we understand that behind every brand there is a story. Public relations is evolving into the business of helping brands tell their story through many different media channels. I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to lead the continued transformation of Cision to an even stronger company in the years ahead", says Peter Granat, incoming CEO of Cision.
Peter Granat has taken on a succession of executive management roles with increasing responsibilities since joining Cision as Senior Vice President, Sales & Business Development, in 2003. Before being appointed CEO of Cision North America in 2012, he was President/Chief Operating Officer of Cision North America and President/CEO of Cision Europe
Mr. Granat holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a BA from the University of Vermont.
