CHAIR OF CIMSPA NORTH WEST STANDS DOWN

Michael Hunt, Chair of the North West regional management board for the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA), has announced that he will be standing down from his position.

Mr Hunt has played a pivotal role in recruiting and establishing the CIMSPA North West board, one of twelve national and regional management boards that support the central CIMSPA team in Loughborough at a local level. He is standing down from his position as Chair of the board in order to focus on pursuing a potentially groundbreaking growth strategy for Hyndburn Leisure Trust, of which he is Chief Executive.

Mr Hunt will be leaving a lasting legacy, having secured backing from the Hyndburn Leisure Trust board to support all staff in signing up to CIMSPA in order to further their professional development.

Sean Holt, Chief Executive Officer of CIMSPA, said:

The board has an excellent mix of skills and expertise, and will support us very effectively in representing the full range of sport and physical activity professionals across the region. Mr Hunt said:

“I am very sorry to be standing down as Chair of CIMSPA North West, particularly in the midst of such an incredibly exciting year for the sport and physical activity sector. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the Chartered Institute, and am proud of how far it has come in such a short period of time. Although I will no longer play a direct role in its development, my support for what it is seeking to achieve will continue long into the future.”
