Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin Hosts St. Paddy’s Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home Program in Indiana

TERRE HAUTE, Ind., March 7, 2011—Rather than raising a glass to an old Irish tune this St. Patrick’s Day, Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin is raising a hand to take keys from drunk drivers and offer them safe and free cab rides home. For the third year running, the law firm will provide the Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program to people who have been drinking or who don’t feel they have a safe way home.

“We want to offer those who are out celebrating safe rides home to protect not only them, but others on the road as well.” said attorney Steve Fleschner, co-founder of Fleschner, Stark, Tanoos & Newlin. “Drunk driving is not an accident—it’s a choice and a crime. We’re offering an easy alternative.”

Teaming up with Yellow Cab of Terre Haute, the firm is providing rides from a bar or restaurant to an individual’s residence in Terre Haute or West Terre Haute—not to other drinking locations.

Don’t Get in a Pinch—Get in a Cab!

  • The Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program will be available from 3 p.m. on Thursday, March 17 through 3 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2011.
  • To request a free cab ride home, call Yellow Cab of Terre Haute at (812) 478-5000 and tell them Fleschner Law is paying for your safe ride home.
  • Due to the high number of requests on St. Patrick’s Day, rides cannot be guaranteed for everyone who calls; however, every attempt will be made to accommodate everyone who requests a ride home. Drivers have the right to use their discretion when accepting fares.

Safe and Sober Free Ride Home Program

Launched on New Year’s Eve 2008, the Safe and Sober Free Cab Ride Home program provides a safe transportation alternative during many of the traditionally high alcohol consumption holidays. Cab rides are made available on New Year’s Eve, St. Patrick’s Day, and Halloween to area residents who otherwise might attempt to drive home after drinking. Rides are provided to an individual’s residence—not to other drinking locations.
