NASHVILLE, Tennessee--From a fire spinner and a second degree black belt in Tang Soo Do to a Sundance Film Festival participant and Emmy award-winning producers, cj Advertising embraces diversity in the workplace and boasts one of the most well-rounded—and entertaining—staffs in Nashville, Tennessee. The agency is looking to expand its staff by adding a public relations manager and two social media specialists to its family.

Public Relations Manager

This position requires a fun, outgoing person who understands the importance of PR in growing a business, communicates well, and has an eye for detail. The primary functions of this role include:

  • serving as the contact for prospective clients and explaining the benefits of PR.
  • creating and distributing press releases and other PR-related materials.
  • advising clients on the best ways to approach and take advantage of their press releases.
  • fostering relationships with media contacts, bloggers, and other applicable contacts.
  • creating and maintaining press kits and website content.

To be considered, applicants must have:

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher education (preferably in English or communications).
  • One to two years related professional experience.
  • Knowledge of the AP Style Guide and Chicago Manual of Style.
  • Understanding of social media outlets (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, etc.).
  • Excellent presentation/pitching skills.

Social Media Specialist

This job needs someone who knows social media inside and out. The ideal person will be a superb conversationalist with a passion for analytics and the ability to churn out HTML in the blink of an eye. During a typical work week, this person will be:

  • working with others to plan and execute social media aspects of marketing campaigns.
  • being a proactive voice for clients.
  • making recommendations about social media best practices and campaigns.
  • creating custom Facebook tabs.
  • tracking and monitoring social media statistics and related marketing efforts
  • responding to client requests and gathering information for posts and tweets. 

To be considered, applicants must have:

  • a bachelor’s degree or higher education (preferably in marketing, mass communications, or a related field).
  • at least two years of professional experience with social media—such as Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube—particularly with executing campaigns and increasing audience size through organic methods.
  • at least one year of experience creating and monitoring Facebook ads.
  • familiarity with social media measurement and competitive analysis tools.
  • proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Dreamweaver, and HTML/CSS (experience with Adobe Illustrator a plus).
  • detail-oriented mindset with excellent collaboration, design, writing, and communication skills.
