SolarSpring Receives First Order from atmosfair for CO2 Mitigation

SolarSpring GmbH, a 100% subsidiary of CISH AB, has received a first order with a volume of 48,200€ for a water purification system in Burkina Faso from atmosfair. The German non-profit organization atmosfair actively contributes to CO₂ mitigation by promoting, developing, and financing renewable energies in over 15 countries worldwide. They rely exclusively on voluntary climate payments from private individuals and businesses which are used to mitigate the effects of climate change.

The increasing burden on the global climate caused by rapidly growing air traffic poses significant challenges for the global community. People in the Global South suffer the most from the consequences of climate change that they did not cause. Motivated by the aim to mitigate CO₂ emissions in these countries, atmosfair develops and operates climate protection projects through the expansion of renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies, advises and accompanies companies and institutions on the transformation path to decarbonized economic activity and offers environmentally conscious people the opportunity to offset unavoidable CO₂ emissions.

Thus, it does not come as a surprise that atmosfair and SolarSpring are highly suitable cooperation partners. SolarSpring’s solar powered drinking water systems operate 100% by the sun and are designed to function under harsh conditions as often found in developing countries with tropical climates. The initial plan of action involves the installation of a water kiosk in Burkina Faso with 5 distribution points. SolarSpring will be commissioning its water purification system PRO 3000 with an hourly production capacity of 3.000-5.000 l. The contracting volume amounts to 48,200€. However, this is only the first step. atmosfair has signaled that they wish to expand the order volume to a number of 10 water purification systems per year for the next 5 consecutive years, amounting to a total potential of 2.41m€ by 2026.

As a non-profit organization, atmosfair finances the projects through donations and voluntary CO₂ compensation payments mostly made by airline passengers. The voluntary climate protection payments based on the amount of emissions created are used by atmosfair to develop renewable energies in countries where they hardly exist, above all in developing countries. In this way, atmosfair saves CO₂ that would otherwise be created by fossil fuels in these countries.
