Cline Scientific (Spotlight Stock Market: CLINE B), a world leader in nanotechnology used in cancer diagnostics and stem cell therapies, is seeking a patent to protect a unique method of producing cells to repair cartilage damage and osteoarthritis. The method is based on Cline's patented nano-gradient surfaces and on extensive stem cell research by an acclaimed Professor at the University of Gothenburg.

“We're very excited to be seeking this patent. This will be our second project that has a major clinical application, and has quickly reached a stage where we see a number of verifying results ready in the coming months. Cartilage cannot heal itself partly due to limited blood supply and our technology has the capability to make cartilage regeneration possible.  We look forward to being able to present more about these findings in the spring and aim to start a Phase 1 clinical study in 2021”, says Dr. Hanne Evenbratt, Director Product Development.

Cline's new patent application is the basis for a regenerative medicine product aimed to be a treatment for cartilage repair. The product will have the possibility to penetrate a multi-billion dollar market, due to the potential this technology has to heal injuries and diseases in a way that is currently not available. Further information and scientific results will be published and presented in the second quarter this year.
