New publication shows Cline’s gradient surfaces achieving faster and more efficient stem cell differentiation

In a new article published in the Journal of Biotechnology, Cline Scientific showed that gradient surfaces functionalized with Activin-A leads to improved, controllable and more efficient differentiation of stem cells compared to classical methods.

Activin-A is an important biomolecule for the differentiation of stem cells into many different types of cells and organs. The team transformed induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) into definitive endoderm (DE) which is the first step in generating many different cell linages and stem cell based applications. Cline's method not only allowed for quicker and more efficient results but also allows for finding the optimal activin density in vitro.

These exciting findings, in combination with previously communicated results, further confirm the relevance and potential of Cline’s gradient nanotechnology in range of biomolecules and biological processes. Precise and efficient methods for differentiating stem cells into targeted development stages is crucial for cell therapies such as StemCART, Cline's stem cell therapy for arthritis.
