“The last few years have been challenging due to many macroeconomic developments, but have also given us the opportunity to demonstrate the resilience of our core categories and brands.

In 2020, Cloetta joined the Science Based Targets initiatives and set goals in line with the Paris agreement. We have committed to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions within scopes 1, 2, and 3 by 46 per cent by 2030 from a 2019 base year.

Last year, we made further progress within our climate action program by improving our data collection process through collaboration with value chain partners for our scope 3 emissions and structured our initiatives to accelerate the reduction of our scope 1 and 2 emissions.”, says President and CEO Henri de Sauvage-Nolting.

Selected sustainability agenda progress

  • Cloetta’s vegan candy portfolio significantly increased to 37% from 23% last year. Overall, we maintained more than 90% recyclable packaging.
  • Total CO2e emissions decreased with approximately 10% compared to 2019 (base-year).
  • Continued efforts to enable living income for cocoa farmers and empower women who are harvesting shea in West Africa.

The report is available in both English and Swedish in pdf format, as well as summarized in a separate digital version. The Annual Report is also available on the same website in European Single Electronic Format (ESEF). A printed version will be sent by post to shareholders that have requested it.
