Clogau Gold looks ahead to 2012 after a prosperous Christmas

Welsh fine jewellery brand Clogau Gold reports on an exceptional Christmas 2011, and begins 2012 on a high note.

Revenue from direct customers during November and December was up by over 11% compared to the same period in the previous year with bead charms from the Milestones collection being by-far the most popular gift purchased.

Customers keen to invest in Clogau Gold

Contrary to the cautious Christmas shopper that was predicted, Clogau found the average order value of its direct customers during November and December increase by over 25% compared to the same period in 2010.

A Clogau representative says: “We believe that during Christmas 2011, customers were understandably cautious but nevertheless willing to spend that little bit more on a special gift that is seen to be an investment. In our case, this was an investment in gold, superior quality and overall a luxury product that will last a lifetime.”

A generous ‘thank you’ was offered to the top 1000 customers of 2010 and 2011 who were invited to a time-limited VIP-only online sale which was open on Boxing day for 6 hours only for the selected customers to benefit from 20% off the entire range.

Second outlet store for the Welsh brand

Clogau’s high-street presence was increased in late November with the opening of the brands first outlet store in England, and second in the UK.

The store saw optimistic sales from customers looking for discounted and discontinued items.

Award-winning products

2011 was rounded off with the jewellery brand’s Royal collection winning the Duty Free News International Jewellery Product Award for Best Marketing Campaign.

In 2012, February brings with it the launch of Clogau’s Spring & Summer campaign, as well as a fresh new-look and presence at The Jewellery Show.
