Announced finalists in both ‘Best Supplier of the year’ and ‘Best Marketing Campaign of the Year by a Supplier’ categories

It has just been announced that  fine jewellery retailer, Clogau Gold, has been shortlisted in two categories of the 27th Frontier Awards 2011. Billed as ‘The Oscars of the travel-retail industry’ The Frontier awards have, for over 20 years, recognised the brands that have achieved the highest standards of excellence.

Shortlisted in both ‘Best Supplier of the year’ and ‘Best Marketing Campaign of the Year by a Supplier’ categories, Clogau Gold eagerly anticipates the results of the ceremony set to take place on 21st September at the glittering awards ceremony at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes.

The news arrives during what is fast becoming a pivotal year for Clogau Gold . The brand is recognised for its rare Welsh Gold, the gold of choice for the British Royal Family’s wedding rings.

The Royal wedding in April presented a golden opportunity for Clogau Gold to grow brand awareness and increase market share . The Royal wedding marketing campaign was shot around the Palace of Westminster (see image) and consisted of multi-channel activity including a launch of Royal themed collections in association with Historic Royal Palaces Enterprises. It culminated in a fabulous month of Clogau branding and consumer recruitment activity in Heathrow’s Terminal 5 (see image).

Compared to the same period in 2010, the first six months of 2011 has seen sales to travel retail partners grow by 360%. Clogau Gold is now present on 12 airlines and cruise-ships in Europe, North America and Asia as well as a number of additional airport trading partners. In January, 2011, Clogau's Fairy locket was named the number one best-selling jewellery item in British Airways Short-Haul brochure.
