UK sales boost for Club La Santa due to Olympic success

Club La Santa, the World’s number one sports and active holiday resort in Lanzarote has seen a significant boost in UK sales since the start of the Olympics.

Over the past four weeks Club La Santa’s UK bookings have increased by 69% due to a growing interest in sport following the excitement of the Olympic Games.

Head of Club La Santa UK, Claire Dyson said: “The success of the London Olympics has had an amazing knock on affect for the UK sporting industry. People are feeling inspired by the athletes and their success and looking for ways to become more active or take up new sports.”

Well known for its training camps, Club La Santa has seen many Olympic athletes travel to the resort for training ahead of the Games, including Gold and Bronze Triathlon medalists Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee.

Claire added: “The Brownlee Brothers achievements will definitely have an impact on the Triathlon market. We expect to see an increase in people taking up Triathlon as a new sport and participating in Triathlon events over the next year or so.”

As the official organiser of the Ironman Lanzarote and the new Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote, Club La Santa also expects to see a rise in participation and training for Ironman events.

“The Ironman Lanzarote is one of the most popular Triathlon events in the world” said Claire “however we expect next year’s event to be even more popular. The Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote is a shorter event which has already proven to be a popular event and is selling well.”

Club La Santa also offers over 30 different sports which includes almost half the official Olympic sports including; Athletics, Cycling, Badminton, Handball, Volleyball and Triathlon to name a few.
