About Us
The business was launched in 2006 with the aim of selling new outboard engines, as well as outboard servicing, repairs and the provision of outboard parts. Our fully equipped 1,500 square foot workshop and showroom enables us to provide an extensive range of outboard services and related products. Where owners have problems is delivering their engine or boat to our workshop we are happy to travel and provide on-site servicing. If required, we can travel and remove engines for workshop servicing. In short, we aim to provide products and services tailored to the needs of individual boat owners. Tailoring our services to the needs of individual customers has enabled Clyde Outboards to grow year on year. This was recognised when in 2008 we were awarded a Regional Business Award by Business Gateway for new business start ups. In October 2010 we moved to premises in Tarbet Street in Gourock. In March 2011, our dealership profile was extended when approved Honda dealership status was added to our existing Tohatsu dealership. As the business continued to grow, in February 2013, we moved to our current location in the Kingston Industrial Estate, Port Glasgow. Later that year we became approved Mariner dealers. We are now approved dealers for Tohatsu, Mariner and Honda. Our new larger premises enable us to provide better quality customer services such as indoor service work on outboards whilst attached to boats and ribs. Within the showroom area we can now display a bigger range of new outboards, pre-owned outboards, inflatables, as well as outboard and other boating accessories. Conveniently, our current location means that we are closer to our customer base across Greater Glasgow and West Central Scotland. Indeed we are now only 20 minutes from the centre of Glasgow.
