CNS COMPLIANCEngine Finalist for Two UK IT Industry Awards
Innovative Compliance-as-a-Service approach in BCS & Computing Awards
London, 4 September 2012, COMPLIANCEngine, the Compliance-as-a-Service IT security service from specialists CNS, has been nominated for awards two BCS & Computing UK IT Industry categories: Security Innovation of the Year and UK Innovation & Entrepreneurship Award. The BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards are a platform for the entire profession to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.
Director, Shannon Simpson comments, “We’re very pleased to be included in the shortlist as we think our COMPLIANCEngine is a new and innovative approach to compliance and IT security. Before, clients used a variety of products and tools and had to manage and administer these separately to obtain visibility across all compliance issues. In addition existing tools were often overly complex for the task of compliance monitoring. The CNS COMPLIANCEngine changes this by providing all the necessary compliance services with a bespoke 24/7 managed service”.
This is also the first time a company has set about designing and delivering a compliance product and service from the ground up, without the significant overhead and baggage of previous approaches. CNS used its own scripting engine, which means it’s completely customisable to customer applications, systems, IT Estate and risk management methodology. Simpson continues, “Because it’s a service there is a low cost of ownership. There’s no hefty capital expenditure. It’s our code, our fix, our problem. The customer just gets the information they need to make the decisions the business requires”.
David Clarke MBE, Chief Executive Officer, BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, says,
“Congratulations to the finalists; they can be proud of their achievements in reaching this stage of our prestigious Awards. Through the Awards we aim to demonstrate not only the innovation and professionalism of those working in IT but also the importance of IT in delivering business and social benefit.”
Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing comments: “The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged and to be announced as a finalist is a great achievement.”
