Following the success of their visit to Plymouth last year, German surf punk band The Razorblades are back for more.

Hailing from Wiesbaden, Germany the band are playing the Tiki Bar & Diner, Drake Circus on Wednesday, 23rd October.

Following last year’s gig, the band has been determined to come back to Plymouth. Guitarist, Rob Razorblade said: ‘We loved Plymouth, the gig was brilliant. The place was full and everyone was dancing and really getting into it. We’d been told about the Punx Picnic and how people are really up for a good time. We couldn’t wait to come back.”

Germany may not be the first place you look for wild surf music. The band first got together in 2002 and have played across the US and Europe, released four albums. Their music is loud, fast and melodic, a combination of Dick Dale’s sixties surf guitar sound with the volume and speed of punk.

The Razorblades are supported by Plymouth three piece The Waterboarders, who have established themselves with their own brand of surf music.

The gig is part of 25 date European tour. The band are playing two gigs in Cornwall at Tywardreath and Penryn on the 25th and 26th following gigs in London and Brighton. After a gig in Hastings on the 27th, the band are back to Germany  and then Austria and Hungary, Slovenia and Belgium.

So, if you like your music loud and fast, with good tunes and plenty of jumping around, get to the Tiki Bar on Thursday. Doors open 8pm, entry £3.
