Coloplast, the global medical devices company based in Peterborough, is providing support to help patients at Peterborough City Hospital.

This year the hospital organised two events to support patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). The most recent offered help and advice to patients to raise awareness of the disease and the treatment options.

Coloplast sponsored and attended the event as part of an ongoing partnership with Peterborough City Hospital. Consultants and specialist nurses from the hospital were on hand throughout the day, as was the Coloplast team, to discuss and respond to patient queries.

Claire Ballard, senior territory manager in the Ostomy Care Division at Coloplast, said: “This was an incredibly useful event for us. To hear how patients are benefiting from using our products is always helpful but to hear how we can develop them further is of immense benefit.”

Mandy Ward, head of communications at Peterborough and Stamford Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, added: “We are delighted to be able to hold these events which focus on very specific disease areas. To have Coloplast sponsor, attend and engage with participants has clearly highlighted its commitment to patients with IBD. The feedback from patients has been very positive and we hope to continue with similar events next year.”

It is this inclusive culture which ensures Coloplast continues to have the best reputation among medical device companies according to a survey by the independent research organisation PatientView.
