Skanska selects Comintell to develop Skanska Experts, a searchable competence directory. Comintell, the leading Nordic Knowledge Management company, today announced that Skanska, a multinational construction company with about 79000 employees, has chosen Comintell Knowledge XChanger for their global competence directory, Skanska Experts. Skanska Experts is an intranet-based system, which enables users to search and find expert knowledge within different competence and product areas. It will be launched across the whole Skanska Group during October. "The large expansion process that Skanska is going through requires a structured tool that allows us to find the expertise that exists in different parts of the organization," says Per Hogård, project manager for Skanska Knowledge Networks. "For us Comintell Knowledge XChanger was the natural choice, since they could offer a fast, off-the-shelf and cost-effective solution." Comintell Knowledge XChanger makes it possible to store personal profiles that includes both contact information (taken from Skanska's central employee directory) and competence areas. These are made searchable through both a free text search engine and through a navigation tree in four levels. This allows Skanska' s employees to easily find expert assistance thereby finding solutions quicker.
