Hill’s introduces the 10-Week Weight Challenge Campaign will help pets get back to their perfect weight
To help pets reach their ideal weight and live a healthy and happy life, Hill’s Pet Nutrition is launching the “10 Weeks Challenge” campaign. Pet owners across Europe will gain a better understanding of how excess weight can make day-to-day activities difficult for their pet. They will also be able to see the difference Hill’s™ Science Plan™ Perfect Weight can make to their pet’s health in just 10 weeks.
“At the ideal weight, pets are more playful and are better able to explore their surroundings. That boosts their quality of life, which in turn makes their pet parents happier,” said Stefano Pettinella, Hill’s Marketing Director for Europe. “The Hill’s 10-Week Challenge is designed to raise owners’ awareness of the difficulties overweight pets experience and provide a long-term solution to the problem.”
About 50% of pets in Europe are overweight, and research shows a clear link between an animal’s optimum weight and their quality of life. In fact, carrying an extra 20% body weight can lead to major health problems later in life.
That’s why Hill’s is launching a new and engaging campaign to help dogs and cats across Europe get back to their ideal weight. The 10-Week Challenge is two-fold:
- 1. Raise owners’ awareness of the issue
- 2. Provide a long-term solution
As the 10 Week Challenge video shows www.youtube.com/hillspetuk, overweight pets struggle with day-to-day activities. Pet lovers can share this funny and endearing video on social media to help raise awareness of the issue and show that a healthier pet is a happier pet.
The Hill’s 10-Week Challenge competition will run on Facebook between February and June 2015, and more than 5,000 selected participants from Europe will receive 10 weeks’ worth of Hill’s™ Science Plan™ Perfect Weight pet food. For the chance to be one of the lucky winners, entrants must fill in a simple, short form stating why their pet should receive the Science Plan™ pet food.
