VetShare – the veterinary buying network – has appointed Angela Wilkin to the role of Business Development Manager. The company offers practices from around the country the opportunity to access discounts from over 50 suppliers and is experiencing strong growth. Angela will be working to expand the range of products and services available to member practices and strengthens the existing management team.

Directors, Wayne and Ruth Gray already run their own well-established group of practices and as vets have nurtured VetShare to its current stage of development with the interests of members very much driving all decision making. Angela has had a long and successful career with multinational pharmaceutical and petfood companies in sales and marketing roles and has worked directly with veterinary practices and groups nationwide. She says, “I am really looking forward to using that commercial knowledge to benefit VetShare members and in continuing to develop the very positive cooperative relationships that VetShare already has with suppliers.”

Director Ruth Gray strongly believes that the buying group model gives independent veterinary practices the freedom to concentrate on clinical excellence and client care, without worrying about the drug bill, “The veterinary community has been operating in a very competitive environment. As vets, we have faced those challenges too and we feel that, by standing together, independent practices will be in much better shape going forwards. As members of that community our buying network ethos is quite unique and relationships are paramount. Angela totally understands the needs and priorities of veterinary practices and our members will reap the benefits of her additional skills and expertise as she helps VetShare move forwards with a number of exciting projects.”

Wayne and Ruth are also ‘keeping it in the family’ with their communications strategy, working with specialist veterinary communications agency Companion Consultancy.

About VetShare

Vetshare is a veterinary buying network used by hundreds of practices around the UK. The company is owned and run by vets Wayne and Ruth Gray and offers a fair and transparent process by which members can enjoy discounted products and services. This allows practices, both large and small, to match the negotiating power of corporate chains, helping to sustain a diverse, independent veterinary community that can continue to offer choice to their clients and patients.

Not only is joining VetShare free but there are also no minimum contracts and practices continue to pay their wholesalers direct. Each month the practice receives a statement listing all rebates, from which the modest management fee is deducted. The VetShare model is driven by a desire to champion the long term viability and success of independent practices.

In addition to enjoying a stress-free income from rebates every month, VetShare practices can also benefit from genuinely discounted complementary services. For more information visit www.vetshare.co.uk
