Apprenticeship roles a priority for Compass Point

Nine new apprenticeship roles have been created at Compass Point Business Services (East Coast) Ltd

The nine apprenticeship roles will be across the Company’s services working in Revenues, Benefits, Human Resources, Operations Support, IT and Customer Services, giving a thorough grounding in the Compass Point Business Services local government support service.

Board Chairman Cllr Fiona Martin MBE said: “Creating long-term sustainable employment in Lincolnshire is one of the key objectives of our local government company.

“We want to deliver a new way of providing efficient, value for money services – and creating apprenticeship roles is an important part of our journey.

“These opportunities will help to provide people with a thorough grounding in business administration and help to get people into work.”

Cllr Martin added: “At a time of massive change for local government Compass Point is offering a new, effective way to support councils and others in the public sector.”

The nine quality apprenticeships will be at Manby near Louth and at Spalding; with the new recruits joining the Company over the next four-six weeks.

The apprentices will be mentored by a member of the Compass Point team to ensure they have the support they require to complete a NVQ qualification in Business Administration.

CPBS (East Coast) Ltd is working with Louth based First College to deliver the work-based training to apprentices.

Business Manager, Ian Dickinson said “First College is happy to support the partnership in the training and assessment of the Apprenticeship roles for the benefit of the individuals and Compass Point Business Services.”
