Employer of the Year Award for Compass Point
Compass Point, the shared services company owned by East Lindsey and South Holland District Councils has won the Lincolnshire & Rutland Skills Award 2013 Employer of the Year Award.
The award was announced last night, Thursday 25 April, at the prize giving ceremony in Lincoln. The awards recognise employers that demonstrate commitment to excellence in skills development through high quality training support to their staff, including apprentices. Each apprentice in Compass Point has a structured induction, reports into a team leader and are mentored to ensure they have the support they require.
Cllr Paul Przyszlak, Chairman of the Board of Compass Point and Deputy Leader at South Holland District Council said: “It’s a great achievement for a young company and I’m proud that Compass Point has been recognised for its approach to apprenticeships.”
Vice Chairman, Cllr Fiona Martin from East Lindsey District Council, added: “Encouraging young people and improving skills is vitally important and it’s a great honour for Compass Point to be recognised in the regional awards.”
Jude Ingram, Team Leader Recruitment from First College, said: “The Employer of the Year Award is a very deserved tribute to Compass Point Business Services for their on-going commitment and enthusiasm to the Apprenticeship programme and helping local young people start their career path. First College are looking forward to working with Compass Point to continue this success.”
Compass Point Business Services (East Coast) Ltd was nominated as Employer of the Year in the medium employer category for its Apprenticeship scheme which was launched just 12 months ago.
A total of 14 apprentices are currently employed working in customer services, revenues, benefits, human resources, information technology, finance and HR.
