Componenta continues to grow

Componenta has signed a contract with Moventas Oy under which the Group’s foundries in Iisalmi, Finland and in Heerlen, the Netherlands will supply Moventas with castings for wind generator gear components with a total value of EUR 70 million over the period 2009 - 2011. As a result of this supply contract, capital expenditure of EUR 6 million will be made at Suomivalimo in Iisalmi to raise production capacity by 70 % in summer 2008. The investments in buildings and machinery will generate about 30 new jobs at the foundry. The net sales of Suomivalimo are EUR 18 million and the current amount of personnel is 125.

Componenta is increasing machining capacity in Turkey by building a new plant. Some 8,000 m2 of new production premises will be built at the machine shop in Orhangazi, which should be completed in summer 2008. Capital expenditure on the building will be EUR 3 million. It is planned to double the machining capacity at Componenta Orhangazi from its current level with machinery investments of EUR 6 million during 2008 – 2009.

Componenta’s Board of Directors has confirmed new long-term goals for the Group. The Group’s strategic goal is to be the leading European cast component supplier by 2012. The company’s goals are growth in net sales to EUR 800 million, operating profit 10% of net sales, return on investment of 20%, and an equity ratio of 40%.
